Dune-du-Nord S.E.C. is drawing on Activa Environnement’s expertise to obtain environmental authorizations and permits for the development of the Dune-du-Nord Wind Farm in the Magdalen Islands.

The mandate notably comprises the environmental studies to be conducted as well as validation and adaptation of environmental studies previously performed by the intermunicipal energy board for the Gaspésie–Îles-de-la-Madeleine region. For this mandate, Activa Environnement is teaming up with Attention FragÎles to conduct plant surveys and for support in developing a plant habitat compensation strategy. Activa will thus ensure that Dune-du-Nord S.E.C. benefits from maximum added value in the project development process.

Dune-du-Nord S.E.C. was selected by Hydro-Québec pursuant to a call for tenders, which paves the way for the company to develop its first wind project in Quebec. Construction of two wind turbines with a total capacity of 6.4 MW in the Magdalen Islands will represent an estimated investment of $25M.
