McInnis Cement has contracted Activa Environnement to carry out various types of environmental monitoring required during the first year of operation of its cement mill in Port-Daniel–Gascons.

The monitoring notably pertains to acoustic climate quality, groundwater quality, integrity of wetlands and aquatic environments, adequate revegetation of sectors temporarily used for construction and soil stability. The various types of monitoring were conducted in accordance with the programs submitted to the Quebec Ministry of Sustainable Development, Environment and the Fight against Climate Change (MDDELCC) as part of the update to the project’s environmental repercussion study.

With its cement mill built between a 68 ha limestone quarry and a deepwater marine shipping terminal in Port-Daniel–Gascons, McInnis Cement has been an innovative manufacturer of high-performance cement since it was founded in 2011. As an environmentally-progressive company, McInnis Cement is determined to provide its clients with quality products.
